The department of fish processing technology constitutes a major department of the college. The department offers courses for U.G studies. This department integrates biochemistry, microbiology, quality assurance, freezing technology, fish processing and product development related subjects. The major mandate of department is teaching, research and extension activities in fish processing technology. We offer comprehensive education and hands-on training in fish preservation, value-added product development, and modern processing techniques. College of Fishery Science, Udgir is established in the area of fresh water, so our department focuses on the unique opportunities and challenges associated with processing fish from inland water bodies, such as rivers, lakes, and reservoirs. Our students gain practical skills and knowledge in freshwater/inland fisheries and aquaculture.
Department of Fish Processing Technology is having well-equipped laboratory with all basic facilities and modern instruments. The department is having the well-equipped processing unit which comprises of processing hall and value added fish product laboratory. Analytical laboratory facility is also available for biochemical and microbiological testing.
